Posts online have intermittently shared atmospheric looks at Hogwarts Legacy’s castle grounds and other scenic regions that players will be able to explore in their leisure. Likewise, quick moments of footage have demonstrated improvements in physics. These are only brief glimpses into Hogwarts Legacy’s wizarding world, however, and as the game’s scheduled release window draws nearer, it would be great to see another big marketing release with a new showcase or trailer, and preferably sooner than later.

Hogwarts Legacy’s State of Play Trailer Shared a Lot
The only considerable showcase that Hogwarts Legacy has revealed thus far was its dedicated State of Play presentation, which ran for roughly 15 minutes and informed players of the myriad activities they will be able to enjoy throughout the game. Such activities include wand duels where players can cast offensive and defensive spells as part of a classroom demonstration or open-world combat, and harvesting different kinds of magical flora within the player’s custom Room of Requirement.
Indeed, Hogwarts Legacy’s State of Play presentation concentrated heavily on combat, which looks dynamic and fluid with the player and enemies casting back-and-forth at one another with a diverse catalog of spells. Players are also be able to equip a mandrake to incapacitate enemies, for example, suggesting that classes and time spent in Herbology will be paramount to how colorful and dynamic gameplay can be.
Players have also been shown a fair amount of the castle grounds as well as Hogsmeade and other regions that can be explored, whether they travel on foot, broomstick, or via Floo Network fast-travel. That said, aside from the aforementioned glimpses into Hogwarts’ interior and exterior, there has yet to be any showcase or trailer as significant as the State of Play.

Hogwarts Legacy’s Release Date Should Appear in a New Trailer
Hogwarts Legacy may not unveil a second 15-minute showcase, but a new trailer with more context or gameplay is certainly overdue. Hogwarts Legacy’s narrative was originally teased in its announcement trailer, and any other surprises may best be left to the game’s actual release. Rather, it would be nice to see a bit more of Hogwarts’ interiors or perhaps a couple shops that can be entered in Hogsmeade.
Besides actual gameplay, though, there is still one important piece of information WB Games Avalanche has yet to reveal. Once WB Games Avalanche unveils a new trailer, it is imperative that it announces Hogwarts Legacy’s release date. The game has since beckoned rumors of a delay due to the fact that a concrete date has not been officially announced. Recent leaks suggest a fairly credible release date for Hogwarts Legacy, and if that date is truly legitimate WB Games Avalanche should likely have plans for a release date trailer at some point in the near future.
If for no other reason than to curb potential leaks that have surfaced recently about Hogwarts Legacy’s collector’s edition and release date, WB Games Avalanche could act now and offer a trailer that officially shares all this information. It is probably the case that such a trailer is already in the works, but in the meantime, fans continue to wait on any new details or confirmation from Hogwarts Legacy.
Hogwarts Legacy is set to release in holiday 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
